Congratulations to Lake Staff Member, Chinese Teacher, Mrs. Fang Ju Lin who recently became a US citizen! We are so fortunate and proud to have her as a member of our staff and school community! Congratulations Mrs. Lin!!! Lake loves you!!!

A Note from Mrs. Fang Ju Lin:

On November 15th, 2017, I became a citizen of the United States. I’m thankful to take part of the neutralization ceremony along with other 49 new U.S. citizens represent from 25 countries. This was one of the most memorable moments in my life!

Being raised in Taiwan through college, I never thought myself as“becoming American”. However, with the support of my family, I left Taiwan and completed my masters’ programs at the University of Georgia and the University of Minnesota and was able to be a teacher to start pursuing my “American Dream” about a decade ago.

“You can take the person out of the culture, but you can’t take the culture out of the person”

What can I do for the United States with my new identity? I love being a Mandarin teacher and I know it is my lifelong mission that to share, convey, and teach the values of different cultures to the next generations in this great country.  I am truly fortunate to have all the support from my family and colleagues in this milestone event of my life, and I am happy to share this exciting moment with each of you.
