"Socktober" Results Are In

Thursday, November 2, 2017 - 07:58

During the month of October at Lake Middle, we celebrated "Socktober," where students were encouraged to prove that even the smallest act of love and kindness can make a difference in our school and community! As a result of their kindness and willingness to help others, Lake students collected 2,473 socks during our Socktober drive! In friendly competition for collecting the most socks, the following classes were awarded donuts during Homebase on Friday, November 3rd: 6th grade - McNamara (110 pairs of socks); 7th grade - Kealy (205 pairs of socks); and 8th grade - Provinzino (64 pairs of socks). The 7th grade had the highest number of donations overall with a total count of 1,174, followed by 6th grade with 840 socks and 8th grade with 401.

Thank you Lake students and parents for your efforts and support of this awesome cause! Socks will be donated to local shelters and organizations in our community.

A special thanks to LMS Builders Club and Advisor, Sara Heideman, for organizing this project!
