Lake Staff Visits Hmong Village

Thursday, November 2, 2017 - 07:39

On Monday, October 30, 2017 six Lake Staff members visited Hmong Village on the eastside of St. Paul. This opportunity was lead by two South Washington County parents as an opportunity to experience a place where many of our Hmong families visit regularly. One of the teachers stated, “It's so cool to see the connections and the importance of family and culture in the Hmong community. It makes me want to know my individual student's experience with the bridge between cultures.” We appreciate that these teachers were able to join us on this trip and took the time out of their lives to learn more about our students. Overall the teachers feel more open to visit Hmong Village on their own and a majority feel that they will be able to connect better with students.
