Welcome 6th Graders!

Welcome to Lake Middle School 6th Grade Students and Families!

Camp 6 Information

The doors of Lake Middle School will open to kick off the new school year for over 1,200 students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th!  The staff at Lake Middle School is very eager to welcome you and your family to a new school year!  Starting the middle school experience is very exciting and part of our job is to make sure the transition from elementary school to middle school is as smooth, positive and fun as possible for everyone!  To assist in this transition, we are happy to welcome your child to “Camp 6!”

We are thrilled about initiatives and activities being incorporated into our daily work which will include building-wide strategies geared to encourage and support learning, successful work habits, organization, positive communication and inclusive interactions with others.  We will continue to support students in doing their individual best as our intention is that Lake Middle School is a welcoming, supportive and safe place for all students to learn and grow academically and socially!

Lake Middle School welcomes incoming 6th grade students to our middle school transition program, “Camp 6.”

“Camp 6” will take place on Tuesday, September 6th from 7:50am to 2:26pm.  This day is set aside to have only 6th grade students on site so that we can focus on successfully transitioning them in to the middle school setting while they have the building to themselves for their first day of school!

Lunch will be provided during the day. Students also have the option to bring their own lunch from home.

6th grade students will learn important information to be set up for success for the 2022-23 school year. This includes learning about their new class schedule, how to use school-issued technology, and more.

There is no registration for Camp 6 required. Regular bus routes will be available for students with assigned bussing during the school year.  Students within walking boundaries will need to walk to school or plan their own transportation to school.  (*Bus routes will be available in Campus Parent Portal in late August.)

*Note: Students DO NOT need a cell phone to participate in school.  Cell phones/AirPods are allowed on site but our school guideline is that they must be powered-off and stored in their locker during school hours of 7:50am-2:26pm and should only be used before or after the school day.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact the Lake Middle School Front Office at 651.425.6400.
